Through its Center for Health Program Management, the Sierra Health Foundation, has issued a Request for Proposals from grassroots organizations for its Youth Justice Initiative. Launched in 2012, the initiative is spearheading county-level juvenile justice system policy and practice change focused on the elements of a healthy justice system — one that reduces the involvement of youth in the system, promotes youth well-being, and improves system practices.
Grants of up to $150,000 over eighteen months will be awarded to nonprofits working to accelerate efforts to achieve a more youth development-focused juvenile justice system in California.
To be eligible, applicants must be a nonprofit organization that supports an existing collaborative or an organization that is creating a collaborative to develop strategies related to the Youth Justice Initiative.
Letters of Intent must be received no later than August 2, 2016. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by September 1, 2016.
